Are you a veteran or surviving spouse? Find out if you're eligible for financial support by attending an educational seminar at one of the Ray Stone Independent Living Communities. More than 30 million Americans are military veterans, but most do not know they may be eligible for additional benefits. One of the least-known senior benefits is the Veteran Administration's Aid & Attendance Non-Service Connected Disability Pension. Aid & Attendance is a monthly benefit paid to a veteran or surviving spouse of a veteran who meets the medical and military service eligibility requirements. Upon approval for Aid & Attendance, full benefits can range up to $1,949 for a married couple, $1,644 for a single veteran, or $1,056 for a surviving spouse. Aid & Attendance benefits may be awarded and applied towards a Ray Stone Independent Senior Living Community once a doctor documents that the veteran or surviving spouse needs to reside in a "protected environment or needs ongoing home healthcare aid for the activities of daily living." Our communities provide additional protective services such as: daily chef prepared nutritious meals, transportation to and from medical appointments, weekly housekeeping, emergency pull cords in bathrooms and bedrooms that are monitored by on-site staff 24/7, safety railings in bathrooms, and activity programs that include structured mental and physical exercise classes. Ray Stone Independent Senior Living can now offer, at no cost, access to consultants who can help you through the qualifying process. For new residents who meet the pre-qualification criteria, we may defer a portion of the rent for several months, recognizing that there can be a delay in receiving income under the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit. To find out if you qualify, call 916-786-2751.
